Caravaggio and Europe at Palazzo Reale
You still have a chance to visit Caravaggio Exhibition, which is displayed in Milan and will be closed on February 6. This is the most important exhibit ever held on Caravaggio and the Caravaggio. The show is divided into two parts: the first is dedicated to Caravaggio, with 24 works selected from museums throughout Europe, the second, larger one, looks at the very extensive Caravaggio movement, which developed in different currents, including Mattia Preti who was the last protagonist. The five hundred exhibited works offer an extraordinary view of the events which characterized the artistic scene in Rome between around 1595 to 1635, which was a critical time for art history - a gulf between Mannerism and Baroque.
