What to do on New Year’s Eve

The City Council of Milan has thought of several ways to bring Italians out onto the streets on the holiday. Therefore, it is a good idea to celebrate New Year in Milan. The events are organized in the area between Piazza San Babila and the Castle with concerts from 10pm in Piazza S. Carlo (Italian evergreen), Piazza Duomo (Italian dance) and Piazza Castello (Italian rock). At 4am skaters will be able to see professional stars the likes of the Holiday-on-Ice ones occasionally popping up on the ice rink in Piazza Duomo. You may also wish to see a midnight firework displayed at the Castle with an explosion of colour. A traditional hunting ground of Milanese nightlifers, the Navigli plays host to a wide variety of events and activities over the festive period, New Year's Eve included.
